Tom Hiddleston

This Tom Hiddleston trivia quiz is Loki easy

The new Marvel TV series “Loki” debuts tonight on Disney+, so it’s a perfect time for Tom Hiddleston trivia.

I’m doing the pleasure-delayer thing and waiting to binge the series all at once. Though given how the internet works, I may have to change that plan if things get too spoiler-y out here.

Meanwhile, I put together five questions about Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston, an actor who feels like he’s been a big deal forever, but really has only been in the spotlight for the last 10 years.

Questions:

  1. Tom Hiddleston had a breakout year in 2011, making his debut in the MCU as Loki in “Thor,” and appearing in two films nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards: Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” and Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris,” where he played what literary figure?
  2. Jim Jarmusch’s film “Only Lovers Left Alive” sees Hiddleston playing Adam, a despondent, centuries-old vampire who is married to another ancient blood-drinker: Ava, played by what Oscar-winning actress?
  3. Maybe hoping to follow in the acclaimed footsteps of Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash and Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles, Hiddleston starred in what musical biopic about the life of country singer Hank Williams?
  4. Apart from a Best Fight win at the MTV Movie + TV Awards in 2013 for “The Avengers,” Hiddleston hasn’t really seen much awards attention, with the exception of an Emmy nomination and Golden Globe win for his role in what suspenseful 2016 limited series?
  5. It’s no surprise that Hiddleston gets top billing in the new Marvel show; he is Loki, after all. But what former frat packer makes his first Marvel appearance in the second-billed spot as the Time Variance Authority agent Mobius?

Answers up after one of my favorite scenes in the entire MCU: Thor telling a story about a trick Loki once played on him. The big comedy is coming from Chris Hemsworth, but the smile on Hiddleston’s face kills me every time.

Answers:

  1. F. Scott Fitzgerald
  2. Tilda Swinton
  3. “I Saw the Light”
  4. “The Night Manager”
  5. Owen Wilson
