Anger from Inside Out

Angry trivia as a form of therapy

Ever have a day where everything just pisses you off? That’s me today. So if I’m going to be angry while writing trivia, I might as well write some angry trivia.

Here are five questions about anger in pop culture, and none of them involve Lewis Black, a man so associated with the emotion Pixar cast him to play it in “Inside Out.”

Questions:

  1. St. Anger is the eighth studio album from what band, who recorded it without an official bass player, having parted ways with Jason Newsted in 2001?
  2. The 2003 movie “Anger Management,” starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson was rebooted into a short-lived TV series in 2012 with what actor (who had recently been fired from a different hit sitcom)?
  3. In the mobile game, the Angry Birds are angry because their eggs have been stolen by King Pig and his many minions. What color are the pigs?
  4. “Don’t Look Back in Anger” from the album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” by Oasis went to No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S., but it was sandwiched between two other songs from the same album that went all the way to No. 1. Name either.
  5. Avant-garde filmmaker Kenneth Anger is especially notable for being the author of what much-maligned and discredited book that purports to be the true stories of the debauchery of the Golden Age of movies?

Answers up after one of the most satisfying scenes of rage to ever be put to screen, Steve Martin’s meltdown at the rental car counter in “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.” People, definitely don’t abuse service workers this way, but GOD would it sometimes feel good to go OFF like this. Stupid social contract.

Answers:

  1. Metallica
  2. Charlie Sheen
  3. Green
  4. “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova”
  5. “Hollywood Babylon”

Know what’s good when you’re angry? Candy. Try to name these 10 from their wrappers.
